                         About Me

I am a primarily self taught blues and jazz pianist with strong traditional country influences.   My roots are in blues, country and rock and roll, but lately I've been leaning toward jazz - listening to people like organist Jimmy Smith.  For the past two years I have been taking lessons from some very good jazz teachers.  I also play some guitar and harmonica, and have been trying my hand at  some song writing.

My biggest influences are John Lennon, the Beatles and Hank Williams Sr.  I also like Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Professor Longhair, Oscar Peterson, Albert Ammons, Gene Harris, Jimmy Smith, and  the other people pictured below.

                 What I'm Looking For

I'm looking for other musicians to play with.   Either to sit around and have fun, or to get a group going with the aim of playing out.  I would love to hear from anyone who likes my kinds of music -  blues based stuff that could extend into country and rock too.   Very interested in people who sing, compose and/or play guitar, fiddle or banjo, but all are welcome.

Also, I'm up to get with a guitar player who wants to play outdoors in places like the parks or in  Union Square.

Feel free to contact me if you are interested in any of this.

 Audio:

  • Tellin’ You True -  Recorded with the Drop Dead Blues Band.  Written and performed by Chris Cloud with me on piano.

  • The Ones Who Love Us  -   Something I wrote about hypocrisy.  It's multi-tracked.  I'm on voice, piano, organ, rhythm and lead guitar.  It's one of my first recordings.  I want to record it with a different feel, maybe in another key.
